VICMS is a proprietary state-of-the-art crowd based visual information management system capable of analysing and identifying key items. The system can be is able to function fluidly in confined or semi-confined in indoor or outdoor scenarios using either a live feed or video that can be in colour or monochrome.
VICMS is has various different integrated applications, each with its own functionality and output when analysing a scene. Some of the key applications within VICMS provide it the ability to interpret the density, direction, bearing and velocity of a crowd- along with accurate facial recognition and fire detection capabilities.

VI - Crowd Management System (Direction & Bearing)
VICMS is capable of detecting the direction of motion by user designated clusters of crowd or the overall direction of crowd movement in real-time scenarios. It is also possible to measure the bearing of a crowd in both navigational and mathematical mean. This means that the bearings can be displayed in both degrees (°) and in terms of navigation (°N, °E, °S, °W). Measures can also be represented in the form of a compass in order to visually point in the direction of crowd movement.
The ability to calculate a crowd’s direction and bearing would be ideal for zone based crowd direction analysis which could be implemented in security operations and policing. An example of this could be using the averaged historical analysis of direction of crowd movement to predict the movement of crowd in a riot or mob circumstance.
VI - Crowd Management System (Crowd Density)
Capable of analyzing the density of a crowd, VICMS enables security monitoring within crowded and non-crowded places by allowing the user to set a desired cluster size that will be highlighted when detected.
Even in highly populated areas, VICMS is able to analyze the density of a group. Applying a heat-map style colouring, the clusters are coloured based on their density.
VI - Crowd Management System (Crowd Velocity)
One of the statistical capabilities of VICMS is the ability to measure the velocity of a crowd in motion. The velocity is measured in approximate miles per hour (mph), therefore giving an approximate measure of the speed of motion. Additionally being able be configured to measure the local velocity of a particular group in crowded scenes allows for specific monitoring of a designated section or group.
Facial Recognition (VICMS)
Equipped with the many-to-many facial recognition system to recognize the faces of people in crowded scenarios VICMS is able to acknowledge a face, create a database of faces. The system is able to recognize distinct faces preventing multiple captures of the same person’s face and accordingly displays the number of distinct faces captured.
Facial recognition could be applied to identify suspects in either a real-time or post crowd based situation analysis.
Visio Ingenii’s Fire Detection System - VIFDS
VIFDS was once an independent application however for greater security within crowd management, it was incorporated into the VICMS with the intention of being able to detect fires within a riot-type scenario. With the ability to take into consideration weather, lighting, crowding of the scene and other environmental conditions, the fire detection system is able to mark and alarm users of the fire as long as it is within range of the camera.
The real-time alarm system, configurable levels of alarm and adaptability to a multitude of scenarios makes this an effective way of monitoring fires from the level of potential fire risk to severe fire conditions in any possible situation the user could want.
